Definition of wanna-be: Ashlee Simpson

If you haven't already heard, Ashlee Simpson is starring in an upcoming film that was going to be titled "Wannabe." The new title is "Undiscovered," also a name for one of Ashlee's songs. She said the reason for the title change was because the president of the film company (Lion's Gate) loved her song. The real reason, however; is because the word "wannabe" is actually trademarked! Yeah. A woman by the name Robin Devine trademarked the word "wannabe" in 1985 after hearing her husband say it. "I had never heard anything like that in my life before," said Devine. When she heard of Ashlee's new movie title, she called Lion's Gate and got them to change it. She says that people can use "wannabe" in everyday speak, but can't use it to sell merchandise unless it's licensed from her.

Hmmm, I wonder if I can trademark the alphabet. I could make billions! Anytime someone recites the alphabet they have to send me $250,000 dollars. I'd make a fortune from one elementary school alone!
