Nick & Jessica Marriage Counseling

Joe Simpson is supposedly trying to save his daughter Jessica Simpson's marriage to Nick Lachey by getting them marriage counseling. "Joe has steered them into a form of Christian counseling," says a source close to Joe, adding that the sessions will take place at Jessica's parents' home in a gated community in Encino, Calif., "away from prying eyes." Nick agreed, but says he's not at fault. "Nick said he'd do it, but I don't think he plans on apologizing for the way he's lived his life or how he's treated Jessica. To hear him tell it, he doesn't have anything to apologize for -- which may be part of the problem." Blah. Why should he apologize for trying to cope with a dunce for a wife? As far as I'm concerned, he should be given a medal for lasting this long! Don't get me wrong...I love Jessica. But she's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. (but even I didn't know if Chicken of the Sea was tuna or chicken...or both.) While Jessica's PR rep denies the couple is in counseling, most people agree that mis-communication is one of the main problems with the marriage. A source (I don't know what source, I just write what I'm told!) says that during one recent fight Nick told Jessica that he hates her whining. "She broke into tears and said in a small little voice, 'You hate me?'" says the source. "Nick said, 'I didn't say I hate you!' They're not on the same page."

Meanwhile, I can tell that Nick is really desperate to get his music career back on track. I know it must suck to have a wife in the spotlight all the time while everybody else seems to have forgotten that he's a musician too and was in 98 Degrees (which in my opinion were better than BSB and Nsync...more R&B styled, less pop). Now he's most known just for being Jessica's husband; the guy that puts up with stupidity on a daily basis. Nick and Drew should form their own duo or something and write sappy love songs about how to deal with dumb blonde wives. I would buy it...and then I'd go marry a dumb blonde. But I haven't found one dumb enough to go out with me yet, and takers?...

Page Six had a blind item indicating that it was Jessica who cheated while making the Dukes of Hazzard and Nick was taking the fall to protect her image.

I think Nick is too smart for Jessica but I hope they make it. I can't imagine living with cameras on me all the time, especially in my first year of marriage. That probably didn't help.
