Jessica Simpson's Acne Woes

Oxy? Stridex? Please!

Have you ever seen one of those Proactiv infomercials? Jessica Simpson claims it's what saved her acne-infested face, along with Alicia Keys and P. Diddy. But according to Page Six, in previous interviews before becoming the Proactiv spokeswoman, Simpson had said she defeated her pimples with Accutane, a presciption acne medicine. From the Proactive website, Simpson is quoted saying "I just had so much build-up and so many clogged pores that once I started using Proactiv Solution, my face was just shining...I'm passionate about Proactiv because it worked for me and it gave me so much confidence." Simpson isn't giving credit to the real medicine that helped her. I guess it really is true that everyone has their price, and Proactiv was willing to pay it more than Accutane.

I've seen those Proactiv commercials, and NONE of the people featured on them have bad acne. Of course, that's probably because Proactiv doesn't do squat for those of us with really bad skin! I tried Proactiv for a year and it didn't help at all! It was a total waste of money!

If something works for Mama and Papas Offspring Mackenzie Phillips, buy it! She had the worst case of acne on TV (watch and old episode of "One day at a Time"). One question comes to mind: May proactiv possibly be responsible for Jessica Simpsons apparent lack of mental deficiencies? Inquiring minds want to know!

Hold up. ...'Lack of mental DEficiencies?' You mean 'lack of mental EFFiciencies'? The presence of 'lack' and 'deficiencies,' within the same phrase suggests you're calling her intelligent. ...I know that's not right.

I tried Proactiv when I was in my early 20's and it didn't do jack squat! I got on BC pills and WALA...acne gone. Im a firm beliver that you can't cure acne with topical creme.

after many years of teen angst, I started using proactive in college. I have used it for ten years. I swear by the stuff. And yes, I had the I-should-be-wearing-a-bag acne. If you look at some of JS's old photo's you can see the hints of bumps under makeup. Proactive is legit!

Thats funny. I used Accutane in high school after it was prescribed by my dermatologist. I had it bad junior year. Scaring and everything. The pills were a MIRACLE!! After 2 months everything was gone included the blemishes and major scaring. There is a drawback of course... you're face dries up excessivley especially the lips. I had to put chapstick on at least 10X a day. But it all paid off at the end because i have never broke out since then. Accutane is a miracle.

ProActiv definitely works, but you have to use it correctly. Not everyone will respond to it. However, so does Accutane and in a major way. I had to have a blood test every month. It is not a drug to take lightly nor mess around with. The manufacturers do not want you pregnant on it because it deforms babies. It's very tough on your liver hence the blood work for monitoring. It completely stops your oil production. When I did it, it stopped my acne, but once I stopped taking the meds, it came back. There is no miracle cure people. I don't doubt that JS is still using/taking both.
